MOLISE…'an undiscovered pearl'

The region of Molise is located south of Abruzzo and north of Puglia.

The Adriatic Sea borders the Molise to the east and the Apennine Mountains to the west. The regional capital is Campobasso.

Molise charms with her open nature, mountainous landscape and historical settlements.

In ancient times, this region was a crossroads for nomadic shepherds and armies on the move from their summer quarters to their winter quarters. Many of these trails still remain,as do the antique and classical monuments and the well-known hospitality of the local people.

In this natural environment, you will find a range of regional specialities and biological products such as olive oil, wine, cheese, meats, pasta...

Morrone del Sannio

Morrone is a peaceful out-of the-way village located 800 meters above sea level between Campobasso and Termoli. It is known as the ‘spy’ of the Molise. From the highest point in the village you can admire a wonderful panoramic view from the Tremiti Islands in the east to the Appennines in the west and the Maiella Mountains in Abruzzo. Morrone del Sannio is a half hour drive from the coast and an hour from the mountains.

Thanks to its location, Albergo (the inn) ‘La Casa Molisana’ forms the perfect base from which to explore the region.
